Genting Trip!

No photos yet as I am still editing and uploading it. Manage to upload the cruising video though. This is the first time ever Rolla climbing the Genting. Well, of course I did the second round on the midnight. Drifting uphill. Also bring a friend of mine who scream all the way till we reached the First World Hotel. Hahaha. Full report coming after this. Meanwhile, enjoy the video first.

Identifying Your Corolla.

Found it here. Which model is my KE70? Hahaha. God knows why Toyota created so many version of #E7# series. Enjoy finding your model.

Boost Leaking.

So as usual, on Thursday I will return to home for the weekend. Also finally took Rolla from the painter. When I got the car back, the first thing I noticed that the engine felt like shit. Total shit. Worse that Bee's engine after overhauling.

And the fuel gauge had been fixed. What happen was some paint got in into the socket. So Jimmy fix it up already. I noticed that Jimmy had touch up most of the flaw. Thanks man. And I got my batter back. Just a misplace issue.

When I arrived at home, took my DSLR and snap some photos. Gosh, I didn't regret spending RM5000 on the 50D.

Gosh, I love GL tail lamp. Looks wider than DX version.

See ma Super Duper Ultra bracket for the lip! The reason? The lip flew yesterday at highway. Hahahahaha. See the broken area? No I will not touch up it. I will leave it there as it will remind me to be careful on bump and uneven road next time.

Then on afternoon, the plan was to go to the wiring shop, to change my front rims, and to go for a test drift with Ejat. When he arrived, I took him for a spin. And shit happened. The engine was shitter that before. So we went to my home again. And I found out that the hose at the intercooler already detach from the clip. Torn some more. FUCK!

All plan was canceled and we removed all the piping.

Nah! All the hoses, my blow off valve and the big hose is from my air intake. All were in bad shape.

Went to a local aftermarket shop and bought some replacement stuffs. The first one is T Clamp from ZAP for the air intake. RM15 per clamp.

For the hoses, I opt the Samco hoses. And since my budget was a bit tight, I didn't buy new clamp for it. Gosh Samco hoses are expensive. RM30 for one piece.

Went back to fit it in. And found out again that the ZAP T-clamp didn't ngam. Fed up, we went to a local hardware and buy these freakin cheap clamp for the air intake. RM2 per piece. And it fit like a charm.

One hour after trying to fit the new hoses into the intercooler and piping, it is ready to roll.

Results? Engine performance is back to normal. Even runnin on 1 bar also no more problem now. Conclusion? Boost leaking can fuck up your day and your engine. Never knew that this issue can cause a lot of symptoms and almost ruin my mood. Rolla is back to normal. Performance was like usual. Causes? I guess the painter didn't tighten up all the hoses. That's all.

So? We headed to the Karunmas to test drift! Ejat is with his KE70 5.2k powered by DGAV Weber and me with Rolla. Just a few laps coz we didn't bring spare tires.

The test run:

Paint Done, BUT..

Well, as per title, Rolla had been painted. Some photos to share:

Bad ass enough? Love the 50D! Awesome photo from it!

While polishing it.

Looks good but..

But..

Also asked the paint shop to clear coat the rims.

When I took the car back, I felt the car is not performing and behave like usual. What I found and felt were:

*When I send the car, the battery's brand was SHOGUN. When I got it back, the brand is different, plus the voltage was too low till car cant start. So I asked him to find my battery back. No way I am gonna take the flat battery.

*Got flaw here and there on the paint's surface such as unevenness or dripping. Already asked him to touch it up again.

*Aircond is not cold anymore.

*Fuel gauge suddenly become faulty. Not working anymore.

*Boost is leaking. I can feel it when the boost reach 0.5 and above. I suspect the hose is worn out or maybe the T Clamp is damaged. Whenever the boost reach 0.5, the engine suddenly became like it is moving with 3 pistons only.

*All lights are out. Even the 3rd brake lamp. Hmm.

So I send back the car for a touch up job now. And since he's not gonna fix most of the problem happened during at his hand, I guess I have to send Rolla to wiring shop tomorrow. My feeling? Not so happy now. Still on examination week, plus these lil problem annoyed me too. Huargh.

Anger management, anger management.. x_x

Canon EOS 50D.

After almost 3 months camera-less, I finally decided to buy a new camera. So went out to the Low Yat Plaza to find the cheapest offer available. The one that I found out is Original set, and cost me a bomb. Earlier, I was planning to stay with Nikon coz I am more familiar with it rather than Canon. Plus Nikon's body is much more nicer compare to Canon.

After asking for some opinion from Mr. Lijet and Helmi (Actually I ask the wrong person, both of em coz they are Canon fan), I finally took the chance to try Canon. The model that I bought was Canon EOS 50D. So what's with the camera?

I guess it is one of the 'prosumer' model from Canon. In the middle of Mid Range and High Range level. The package that I took come with 18mm-135mm lens with Image Stabilizer. The price? Well, the budget that I allocate for the camera was RM 4000. But since I am going to use it for awhile, why don't I take a better one?

Early plan was to take either a Nikon D90 or D5000, or go with Canon EOS 500D. The price range is around RM3000+, so I can use the balance to buy an external flash and tele-lens. But the the camera model is from Mid Range. It was like having a Wira but with Evo III engine.

Since Helmi, Lijet and the promoter were busy poisoning me to go to Canon 'way of life', they told me 500D was good enough if it is just for hobby. Well, me being me, never satisfied with the selection available, I decided to step up the budget to RM 5000. The 50D with 18-55mm lens will cost me around RM4000+. But 55mm lens? Just like my previous D40 only. Huhu. If I am going to take the tele lens (55mm-250mm) it will cost me another RM1200. Haha, out of my budget already. No flash some more.

So they advise me to take the RM4700+ package that come with 18mm-135mm lens. And they were telling me that Canon can take picture nicely under low light condition. From my experience, higher ISO will create more noise, but they were convincing me that the 50D can do that without much noise, which I doubt it.

After a while thinking, I took it along with lens filter, and also lens hood. No battery grip, portrait lens, and no external flash this time. No budget yet. Huargh. So, I went back home to try it.

The results? A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! These shots were taken with ISO 3200 and under low light condition, hand-held with quite slow shutter and no flash. Simply amazing!

The camera box itself.

With the camera, I got these freebies. A limited batch of EOS 50D User's Guide (Very good info inside, I am still reading it), a camera cleaner kit, a tripod, and also a sweater and a shoe bag from Puma. The freebies also will cost me another Rm400+ if I am going to buy it separately.

Some portrait style photos.

My 4th brother. My GrandMa. She's from China. Was sold to local family when she was small.

And my mom. She's holding the 'Millionaire Earner' trophy awarded by the company for the accomplishment. Guess how much she's earning this month? RM130k yo~ Me? Well, a bit drop, only RM5k.

Another crazy stuff of the day was Jimmy the painter calling me at 3am. I was at Alamanda that night, watching Avatar (The movie is good, seriously and 3 hours movie) and finished at 2.30am. Then Jimmy called me and ask me to send all the new stuffs coz the car is done. Excited, I went to the workshop after the movie finished. And helping him assembling few stuffs.

Cant wait for the final look tomorrow.

Jimmy also sprayed the intercooler to black. More stealth and looks like it blend in with white color. Very very 'clean' looking and the vented hood looks nice.

3.30am. Very quiet and a lot of mosquito too.

Unfortunately one of the new tail lamp was chipped. Dunno when it happened, coz the chipped part is not in the box. I suspect it is manufacturing defect. Told the supplier bout it and he is glad to replace it. +1 for the honest seller.
