Back to KL.

Finally. After going through up and down this semester, 29.10.2010 marked the last day in our semester. And my last paper was Hydraulic at 9am today. Struggle the whole Thursday just to make sure I can answer it. Even sacrificing my sleep for it. And straight to class and exam.

Anyway, glad its over already. Yes, I screwed up a few subjects this semester thanks to the problem that had been bugging me since July. And yeah, I'm recovering from it. More post means I'm getting better day by day. Okay so I didn't sleep last night, and after the test, I decided I want to get home before evening. Earlier wanna get a bus to KL, but instinct told me I better ride Rolla so that my study leave/holiday will not be so boring. So, packed everything and I'm ready to go!

12.45pm. 300km trip.

DIY : Brake Switch, Idle Screw or Screw the Idling?

So here's some progress on Rolla this week. Kinda free now coz my semester is gonna end next week. Most of my subject had already finished their syllabus; now focusing on my second test and finally a break before our final exam. So, using my free time; tried to do some fixing on Rolla. This time on my own. No workshop or friends helping. Just a few phone call and SMS asking around few close friend. Hehehe.

Was trying to adjust the idle coz Rolla's idle was at 1.6k to 2k. That's just plain unnecessary! So, decided to fix it myself. First thing that I touched was this sensor. Earlier I thought this is the thing that I need to touch in order to lower the idle. And guess what? I was wrong! HAHA.

Rolla's Exhaust.

Okay so my house area is filled with this extra tall hump. All of sudden there's a dozen of new one when they resurfaced the road. So I was really like WTF coz Rolla's stance is pretty low, especially the flex pipe and the piping which sit lower than its body. Talking bout stupid workmanship at a lousy exhaust shop.

See? See? Cant even make the exhaust tip aligned with the tunnel.

DIY : 4-Throttle Trumpet Filter.

Got myself a deal from Dworks. A set of trumpets for the Blacktop 20v. Medium length. So I guess it should improve mid-range power?

Rolla had been running without any filters since I got it back. Yes, it improved the performance coz there is no air restriction, but the downside is that it sucked everything thus making the internal dirty and probably damaged.

Fuel Pressure for 20v.

Okay, so basically every time I took Rolla out, I need to pump in at least RM20 of fuel, even if its just to KL from Cheras (around 15km and 20-40mins when traffic is no good). Which is not good for my walletlah in other words.

And it pops a lot of fire whenever I decelerate. Few friends told me that the car was running rich. And yes, my friend already told me that they set it to a bit rich so that the car will not have any problem when high revving. And I didn't even bother to checked the fuel regulator since I got my car back.

The new bay. Bling bling. Anyone noticed some new stuffs here and something that isn't right? I'll go into it later.

Video : 20V Noise.

The key ingredients for this dumb post are:
One sad dude.
One neighbor that understand the problem.
One good car.
Good traffic.
And one long tunnel.

Pump in some fuel for one short trip.

Some cruising video.

And finally a good ABC as an ending.

The end!

Done.. Its Done.

Done all done! Car is at home now. There's few thing still need some final sort, such as malfunctioning brake lamp, some spring cleaning, and testing it around should not be a problem after this. And yes, the car need to be endorsed too so I wont be driving it around too much.

Swapped the rear rim with the Riverside. Very dish-ed but somehow I still prefer the 15'.

Pretty much a clean bay now. No more wires here and there.

Putting a flexi pineapple and center exhaust to reduce the noise. And tested it at Ulu Yam the other day. Really V-Tec alike. Power comes in after 3000 rpm. And really can rev it till 8000rpm.

Happy Merdeka anyway.

Cure For The Itch..

I'd been sick for 4days last week, and busy with my first exams, which I screwed up most of em. Geez. Really lost interest with study, but I guess this thing will bring my spirit back.

Will be visiting exhaust shop tomorrow for a 'pineapple', center bullet to silence up the car, some new rubber if possible, and cleaning up the car. And on Sunday, back to JB with this V-Tec!

Home Sweet Home.

I am back. Back in KL. Gosh, I miss my room, my speaker, my parents of coz, and I miss KL especially the traffic jam. Gegegegege. So basically I got MC from doctor. Why? Currently suffering a backbone problem. I had been assuming that's the problem until I checked with Doc. Found out that my ligament between my left leg and my back had torn apart..

Thanks to skateboarding and picking up heavy stuffs. So now? I guess no more skateboarding and Doc told me to have a looooooong good rest. No sports, no heavy lifting, and no extreme activity. It is torturing me but I guess I need to bear with it until it is healed again.

In!

Looks like everything had taken their places. Bay had been repainted to black color and the engine had been sitting in its original position and cleaned. Rack and pinion arriving soon. So, just need a new piping set. From extractor till the muffler. My friend said it will be using a 2' piping instead of the original turbo piping which is 2.4'. And I'll be using Din's twin tip exhaust!

Question : 20v Blacktop Trumpets.

Okay, so basically my car is swapping to Blacktop from Silvertop at the moment. And the only thing that I do not have is the trumpets since the airbox cannot be fitted after the RWD conversion.

So the foreman just reuse back the 'trunk' from the airbox. It should look like this soon.

On The Floor..

Got an email today from my friend, telling me whats the update on Corolla.
Looks like both engine is on the floor already. Silverturbo had been 'scavenge' to 'complete' its younger brother, the Blacktrumpet. They took back my new alternator, and the timing belt. Also, the gearbox had been fitted into the Blacktrumpet.

Plan B : Blacktop.

Was about to get a good deal of 16 valve that came with new timing belt and clutch plate when someone else bought it first. Huargh. Already asked my friend to source another 16valve but most of em came with an expensive price tag. So, we initiated the second plan, which is the 20valve Blacktop.

Rolla on jack-stand again.. This time to swap the engine and also the steering rack.

Zamil's New Ride.

First of all, congratulation to Zamil for getting his first ride or should I say, his first drift machine ever. Manage to stop by at his home yesterday to have a peek. Tested out the car and was checking out the car. Overall, a very good buy and of course too powerful for a 17 years old kid to handle. Hahaha. You know that teenagers tend to drive like crazy shit nowadays.

OK, so I know I am in my early 20s so I am not a teen anymore. Hahahahaha. But hey, I never exceed 120km/h in my Corolla and this kid already did it. See see. That's what I am talking about. Hahaha. No heart feeling ya bro? :P

So, here's the car and the owner. Manage to grab from him.

Ok now, lets see the power house of the car. Guess what's inside?

It is a 4AGE 20 valve Black Top! Powerful enough for a 1.6l engine (160-170 hp?)but the only question that I have is why this Blacktop is using MAF Sensor instead of MAP?

And.. Here's some photos I snapped the other day.

Some tweak and replacement here and there, and this car is ready for some drift action for sure. Overall, a really bargain deal. Good luck to him.

Anyway, I knew that most of you really hate kids like me that is spoiled by parents. Hahaha. Me myself knew I am spoiled sometimes. I changed my opinion this time. Since I am in my early 20s, I can see that teens nowadays are too 'early' getting this kind of vehicle, in my case, a drift machine. Hahaha. But in the end, the purpose of the machine decide it all.

If the purpose is to fuckin show off and brag here and there, and drive like idiots and most of the time, they would likely banged somewhere and something, then definitely you sucks. That's spoiled. But if the purpose is to learn, and to do something useful and there's benefits when doing it, I think that is learning tools. And its better than taking drug, or rempit-ing. Just like me, I enjoyed learning bout Rolla. There's still a lot to learn from em. Just my opinion.

And finally, Zamil got a new blog. Can check out here for his Corolla adventure there. Good luck and all the best to him.

I really should be posting bout the Japan trip, but 3000+ photos make me lazy to do it! Hahaha.
